Successful meetings at Underhåll2026
Underhåll 2026, Northern Europe’s leading arena for industrial maintenance and safety, continues to evolve, and the 2026 edition delivered yet another successful year.
Over four days, the maintenance industry gathered with around 300 of the Nordic region’s leading players at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre in Gothenburg. As this year’s event is summed up, much points to a strong outcome, both in terms of visitor numbers and engagement on the exhibition floor.
Particularly important is the quality of the meetings between exhibitors and visitors.
– The response we’ve received this year is outstanding. Exhibitors want to meet many people, but above all they want to meet the right visitors. This has been highlighted by many this year – that the right type of visitors have been present, says Anders Persson, Business Manager for Underhåll.
Figures also show that the exhibition maintains its strong position on the exhibitor side with around 300 exhibitors present, while also increasing visitor numbers by approximately 10%, reaching 10,100 visits this year.
A meeting place for exchange of experience
Underhåll is not only an arena for new products and technical solutions. It is also a place for exchanging experience between industrial companies, suppliers and experts.
– The outcome in terms of who attends is the result of collaboration between us, the exhibitors and our partners who know the industry well. They invite their target groups and we do the same. Together, we try to identify who people want to meet and work to bring them here.
At the same time, the meeting place aims to strengthen the image of the maintenance industry and attract more people to the sector.
– There is still sometimes an outdated image of industry. But today it is a high-tech sector, and jobs in maintenance are both important and interesting. That’s something we want to help highlight, says Anders Persson.
Safety growing as an area
One area that has grown during this year’s exhibition is personal safety and protection within industry. This initiative has been developed in close collaboration with the industry organization Nordic Safety Association.
– We have expanded the safety segment and worked very closely with the industry organization NSA. Together, we have an ambition to establish a meeting place where we can highlight issues related to personal safety and protection, which has attracted more exhibitors, says Anders Persson.
The initiative is part of the exhibition’s long-term work to develop its content in dialogue with the industry.
Strong relevance for both exhibitors and visitors
Here’s what some of the exhibitors at Maintenance had to say
Glenn Svensson, Blåkläder
– Underhåll2026 is one of the best places for us to meet the people who actually use our products in their daily work. Here we meet users, buyers, safety representatives and HSE managers in one place. That dialogue is invaluable, we get direct feedback on our garments and can at the same time discuss safety and working conditions with those who operate in high-risk environments every day.
Alexander Rimeika, Sundström Safety
– For us, working with respiratory protection, knowledge is absolutely crucial. This event gives us the opportunity to reach people working in tough environments who truly need the right protection. The conversations here are often more advanced than at many other exhibitions – visitors are well-informed and come with concrete questions. That allows us to help them solve real problems in their work environment.
Jennie Åkerman, SKF
– We have been part of this event since its launch in the 1980s, and it remains one of our most important meeting places. Here we meet everyone from maintenance technicians to production managers and can discuss how our solutions can contribute to more efficient and reliable factories. It is also an opportunity to build relationships outside of everyday work.
Among visitors, the feedback was as follows
Per Svedlund, Head of Maintenance, Bollnäs Energi
– We are here to get new ideas and see which products and solutions can support our operations. Underhåll2026 is a great opportunity to meet people from the same industry, build networks and gain inspiration for how we can develop our work.
Linnea Lundmark, Maintenance Coordinator, Göteborgs spårvägar
– Requirements for safety and working conditions are constantly increasing, so it’s important for us to find sustainable solutions that staff can actually use throughout the working day. At Underhåll, we can compare different options and speak directly with experts.
Therese Meissner, Maintenance Engineer, Uppsala Vatten
– The meeting place gives us the opportunity to see how others work with maintenance and what solutions are available on the market. At the same time, we can share our own experiences and discuss our challenges directly with suppliers and other companies in the industry. It’s mutually valuable.
An important year for maintenance strategy
Strategy is becoming an increasingly important topic on the maintenance agenda. During the exhibition, the Maintenance Strategy conference was held, where individuals in leading positions within the segment had the opportunity to meet, listen to each other and jointly discuss future challenges.
– It is very valuable to hear how other organizations work with their maintenance strategies. That type of perspective and exchange of experience provides new ideas for how we can develop our own work, says Maria Fjellborg, Head of Maintenance for Processing at LKAB in Malmberget.
Underhåll is held every two years at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre in Gothenburg and brings together suppliers, industrial companies and experts from across the maintenance sector.
The next edition will take place in 2028.
