Sustainable and efficient maintenance – a matter of survival

Even though 2020 may seem far off right now, preparations for the Underhållsmässan, the Maintenance Fair, are in full swing. And there is no shortage of interesting news about this event, which goes from strength to strength each year.

The multi-sector Maintenance Fair is Northern Europe’s largest and fastest growing trade show for operational safety and maintenance issues. Decision makers and technicians from production industries and the real estate sector will gather to develop competences, exchange experiences and do business.

The 2018 edition of the Maintenance Fair attracted 10 percent more exhibitors than in 2016 and 31 percent more than in 2014. The number of visitors is also increasing.

— Its strong growth shows that maintenance issues are moving higher up the agenda for industrial companies. Decision makers increasingly see maintenance not as a cost but rather as a business-critical investment. Anna Jarnö, Business Manager of the Maintenance Fair, says we can look forward to further growth in 2020.

— Industrial maintenance is not particularly cyclical – no matter how things go in Sweden or elsewhere, sustainable and efficient maintenance will be a matter of survival.

Maintenance 2020 will have the following five main tracks in its educational programme: Digitalization and IoT, Industrial Security, Productivity and Profitability, Sustainable Maintenance and Additive Manufacturing (3D). The fact that industry is becoming increasingly high-tech is something that is reflected both by the exhibitors and the seminar programme.

— At the upcoming fair, we are also launching the Health & Safety Days. This seminar had its première at the last edition, though under a different name. Just like last time, both trade unions and industry’s most important actors are getting involved.
